Returns and Refunds

This Returns and Refunds Policy explains how we handle change-of-mind returns, damaged items, and refunds for purchases made on our website. We aim to provide clear steps and reasonable timelines while maintaining compliance with South African consumer law.

What This Policy Covers

We accept returns within 14 days of delivery for standard items purchased on ywf.co.za. Return shipping costs are paid by the customer, and a 15% handling fee applies to approved change-of-mind returns. Refunds are processed within 21 working days after inspection. Custom-made or personalised furniture is non-returnable unless defective under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). To request a return, please email admin@ywf.co.za with your order number and reason for return.

Returns: 14-Day Window for Change of Mind

You may return an item within 14 days of delivery at your own cost, provided that:

  • The product remains unused, undamaged, and in its original packaging;
  • It has not been assembled, altered, or soiled; and
  • You email admin@ywf.co.za. within 7 days, including your order number and proof of purchase.

This right of return aligns with Section 44(2) of the Electronic Communications and Transactions (ECT) Act 25 of 2002 , which provides a legally protected cooling-off period for online purchases.

Refunds and Timing

Return shipping is at the customer’s cost. Because furniture requires specialised collection and inspection, a 15% return and handling fee applies to approved change-of-mind returns. This fee covers collection, quality control, and restocking. We recommend retaining all original packaging to avoid additional deductions. After inspection, we will confirm the result and, if approved, process your refund to the original payment method within 21 working days.

Faulty or Damaged Goods

If your item arrives damaged or develops a fault within six months, please contact us with photos and your order number. Under the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA) , you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund. Please notify us as soon as possible.

Non-Returnable Items

  • Custom-made or personalised furniture, unless defective under the CPA;
  • Products damaged after delivery due to misuse, neglect, or improper care;
  • Clearance items, unless they are defective.

Exchanges

If you prefer an exchange, please complete the return process first. A new order will then be created for the replacement item. Lead times depend on stock availability and production schedules. In most cases, exchanges are faster than refunds.
